EF Billet Cowl Hardware
A clean new way to secure your EF cowl.
When we built our EF project, we replaced much of the factory hardware with stainless steel Allen head bolts. Then we reached the cowl.
The factory design uses a plastic cap to hide the screw underneath. Over time, those caps are commonly lost or broken, leaving exposed screws that take away from an otherwise clean engine bay.
The screws themselves also thread into plastic anchors attached to the vehicle. After more than 35 years, those anchors often become brittle, crack, or fall apart, leaving the cowl loose with no proper way to secure it.
Our solution was simple. Replace the aging plastic anchors with jack nuts and secure the cowl using stainless steel Allen head hardware. The result is a stronger, serviceable, and cleaner mounting solution that matches the detail-oriented look of a restored or modified EF.
Is this a modification every EF owner needs? Probably not.
But for enthusiasts who appreciate the little details, just like our billet cowl plugs for other Honda and Acura chassis, this is another way to modernize and clean up a classic Honda.
For those asking, no, these are currently not available in black.
We have not found a black finish that we feel will withstand years of UV exposure without fading, chipping, or losing its appearance. Until we find a solution that meets our standards, they will remain available in raw stainless finish.
