We came up with this part for at least two reasons.

1. The plastic OEM style plug heads break almost as easy going in. Any time you need to remove the cowl, you’ll need to remove the plugs. They can be tricky. Even if you take your time at least one out of the bunch ma not make it. The plastic head can be too blame. It is flimsy and thin. It almost tears off rather than lifts up. The retaining clip seems to hold the stem harder than the head can hold on. This was a key feature in our design. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen. We beefed it up. So how often do you need to take off your cowl? Maybe not as much as that would require to have a part so well engineered it will last you a life time. But you can be sure that when you do you will mostly likely break one. One is all it takes. Missing one will leave a big unsightly hole. If you’re even in here looking at parts you’re the type of guy that cares. You like to show off you car with a sense of pride.

2. Because BILLET. Us car guys just like billet. We enjoy the look and feel. It shouts out, HEY something is different here to people that are not even enthusiastic notice.

Ok so you might be sold so far. But you want it in black. I feel you. Here is the thing. As of right now there isn’t a coating we have found that is cost effective and won’t scratch, chip or fade. Black anodized looks amazing but when exposed to direct UV light, it turns gold and only a matter of days and will continue to get worse overtime. So as of right now, this feature is functional and may be marketed to those that like billet parts and aren’t particularly looking for an OEM plus style. If that’s you I also love it as well and because of that we are working towards trying to solve a decent looking coating that will also be built in design for something that could last a long time.

The kit will include 7 billet cowl head and stems with brand new plastic retainers. (The retains that are so strong they would break the head off the plastic type.
